Environmental History-Taking
 The
environmental history is a fundamental tool that allows the health
professional to explore and assess the links between a child’s health
and aspects of their environment. It is through the environmental
history that the clinician might also identify the need for awareness
building and preventive education of parents and patients.
The following is a comprehensive environmental history model. It
is intended to present a wide range of potentially relevant areas
of inquiry for diverse health problems. These may not necessarily
be applicable to each individual or community. Physicians will need
to tailor their own environmental history approach to suit the needs
of their practice.
